GST in Australia

GST is 10% on most goods and services. Some items are GST-free — for example most basic food, many health and education services, and exports. Set GST-free lines to 0% and they're shown separately.

You must give a tax invoice within 28 days if a GST-registered customer asks for one for a taxable sale over $82.50 (including GST).

Questions

Can I mix taxable and GST-free items?

Yes. Set the rate per line (10% or 0%). The invoice shows the GST total and each line's rate.

When do I need the buyer's ABN?

For tax invoices of $1,000 or more, show the buyer's identity or ABN.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?
